MoMA Exclusive: Iittala has brought new life to Alvar Aalto’s iconic vase with their Recycled Glass Program—limited-edition pieces that use post-industrial glass from Iittala's factory in Finland. This new, sustainable procedure of producing glassware renders each piece unique, in variation of blues, greens and natural earthy shades. Unlike typical recycled glass, Iittala’s process produces minimal bubbles but there may be small visual imperfections which give the 100% recycled collection its unique charm. But like all Iittala products, the vase is as durable as designs made of virgin material. This Aalto Vase from Iittala’s Recycled Glass Collection measures 6.25h x 8w x 7"d. The original design for the Aalto Vase is an object represented in MoMA’s collection.
