The return of a classic! Designed in 1985 by Postmodernist master Michael Graves, the 9093 Kettle is one of the best-selling Alessi designs in the world. The 9093 Kettle is distinguished by its contrast of materials—mirror-polished stainless steel and a blue plastic handle—rivet details near the bottom and, of course, the iconic bird-shaped whistle that sings when your water has reached a boil. For this kettle, Graves employed his Postmodernist visual language: the design combines influences from European and American Pop art, and pre-Columbian cultures.
It can be used on any type of cooktop, including induction. Do not heat while kettle is empty or allow it to boil dry. It is not recommended to fill the kettle above the inner spout opening. Hand wash only. Do not use harsh detergents, abrasive cleansers, steel wool or steel scouring pads. At once elegant and playful, the Michael Graves 9093 Kettle is made in Italy. Both Michael Graves and the manufacturer Alessi are represented in MoMA’s collection.
