A modern kitchen classic from Alessi, this pepper grinder was designed in 1988 by Michael Graves. For this everyday grinder, Graves employed his Postmodernist visual language: the design combines influences from European and American Pop art, and pre-Columbian cultures. Made in Italy, the Michael Graves Pepper Grinder boasts a Peugot grinder mechanism. The grinder’s cylindrical, perforated stainless steel container is coated in a gleaming mirror-polished finish, while the grinding fins are made out of blue polyamide thermoplastic resin. The Alessi Michael Graves Pepper Grinder measures 5.2h x 2.5"diam. Both Michael Graves and the manufacturer Alessi are represented in MoMA’s collection.
