The design printed on the bottom of this Eames Blaze Cruiser Skateboard is inspired by the colorful, geometric toys created by Charles and Ray Eames in the 1950s. (The husband-and-wife team commented at the time, “Toys and games are precursors to serious ideas.”) The board is made from rosewood, in keeping with Eames integrity—according to the couple’s grandson, it was Charles and Ray’s favorite type of wood and is still used for the finish of many iconic Eames chairs. The board features a mini diamond-tail cruiser with soft 58mm 83a Retro Flex conical wheels, 3.75” Tensor alloy trucks, a concave body with kicktail and black grip tape, and Eames custom deck bolts and design details throughout. The wheels in particular have a molded pattern inspired by the Eames FSW (Folding Plywood Screen) and also the deck bolts feature the sunburst icon. The Eames Blaze Cruiser Skateboard is made from rosewood veneer and Resin-7 hard rock maple. It measures 26h x 7.25w x 4.25"d.
