To clean, HAY recommends putting the towels in a tub of cold water for 24 to 48 hours before washing for the first time, to prevent the colors from fading and improve the absorbency. When washing, use detergent without bleach and wash at 30 °C / 86 °F the first wash. For subsequent washes, the towel should be washed at 60 °C / 140 °F and dried on low heat.
