This print features a reproduction of The Migration Series, Panel No. 7: The Migrant (1940-41) by Jacob Lawrence, an artist in MoMA's collection. In 1941, Jacob Lawrence, then just twenty-three years old, made a series of sixty small tempera paintings on the Great Migration, the decades-long mass movement of black Americans from the rural South to the urban North that began in 1915-16. Framed in Artblock style with a protective laminate and black ash moldings, this Jacob Lawrence poster measures 37h x 25w x 3"d.
