Alexander Girard designed this textile during his tenure as founding director of the Herman Miller Textile Division, from 1952 to 1973. The double-weave construction allows the two colors to separate completely. The palette draws upon archival color combinations to evoke Girard's playful use of bright tones and remarkable contrasts.
