MoMA Exclusive: Working in the ancient Murano glass tradition that has been handed down within their family, the Sent sisters, Marina and Susanna, combine modern colors, shapes and finishes with traditional craftsmanship resulting in highly original glass jewelry. Each pair of Murano Drop Earrings is made in Italy, features sterling silver posts and is composed of a solid matte black bead, semi-translucent colorful glass bead, and a solid bead in contrasting color. Center bead measures 1”diam.
The art of Murano glass-blowing was highlighted in MoMA's 1965 exhibition Sculpture in Glass, featuring works by Pablo Picasso, Max Ernst and Jean Arp, designed and executed in glass in the ancient factories of Murano.
