Good design often develops from a need. In 1952, designer George Nelson needed lamps for his office, but found the set of silk-covered Swedish lamps he wanted to be prohibitively expensive. So he created his Bubble Pendant Lamps: a series of elemental and organically shaped ceiling lamps constructed of lightweight steel frames and overlaid with an innovative, transparent plastic resin.
The organic shape and soft, radiant glow of the Nelson™ Apple Bubble Pendant will provide warmth and cheer wherever you hang it: in your home, your entryway or, like George Nelson himself, in your office. The Nelson™ Apple Bubble Pendant includes a ceiling plate of brushed, nickel-plated steel and a 10-foot cord, is UL listed, and fits a standard size bulb up to 150 watts (not included). The George Nelson™ Apple Bubble Pendant is available in size M (14.5”h x 21w). Installation required. George Nelson has work in MoMA’s collection.
