Verner Panton’s Pantop Lamp—a 1980 design characterized by its bell-like, widely flaring shade—is now available in a rechargeable portable version. Produced in a more contemporary material, painted polycarbonate, the Pantop casts its light downward, making it a great bedside reading or desk lamp, or for bringing some mood light to your outdoor gatherings. It turns on with a brushed metal bolt on top of the shade, which also dims the light in three stages. The Pantop Portable Lamp measures 12h x 7"diam., weighs 3 lbs and has an integrated 1.5W LED board. It charges via a micro USB cable (included), providing up to eight hours of light per seven-hour charge. Verner Panton’s work is represented in MoMA’s collection.
