MoMA Exclusive: Designed by the husband-and-wife team of Massimo and Lella Vignelli in 1992, this playful watch is distinguished by a wide ring of bright color, earning it the nickname “The Halo Watch.” This monochromatic bezel, made from anodized aluminum, is removable, so you can switch in one of the other two included bezels in different colors and switch up the look of your watch.
“Our basic concept was to transform the watch into a weightless object,” explained Lella Vignelli. “To achieve this effect, we designed a frame that covers the case and expands the glass of the face into a colorful, interchangeable ‘halo’.”
The Vignelli Dot Watch is made in Switzerland, with sapphire crystal, steel and an ETA Swiss quartz. It has a 34mm case with a 8.46l x .63"w calf leather band. It includes three removable bezels in three different colors. Lella and Massimo Vignelli are represented in MoMA’s collection.
